  • You must have a Microsoft account (Outlook/Live) to access Microsoft Clarity
  • You need access to your website’s HTML header or use a plugin that lets you inject tracking codes (e.g. Insert Headers & Footers for WordPress)

📘 Step-by-Step Instructions

🟦 Part 1: Set Up Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

  1. Go to analytics.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Click Admin → Under “Account” choose or create your account.
  3. Under “Property”, click Create Property → Name it (e.g., “MySite GA4”). Set time zone and currency.
  4. Select Web as the platform, enter your site URL, and click Create Stream.
  5. Copy the Measurement ID (starts with “G-”) or the full Global Site Tag script.
  6. Paste the code into your site’s <head> section manually or via plugin (e.g., Insert Headers and Footers).

⚠️ Common Issues & Fixes

  • Not seeing GA4 data? — Double-check if the script is in the right place and published. Try incognito to trigger a fresh session.
  • Using a page builder (Wix, Squarespace)? — Most have settings under “Marketing” or “Advanced” where you can paste tracking scripts.
