Tier: Tier 1 ($17 Implementation)
Estimated Time: 30–45 minutes
Tools Needed: Meta Business Manager, access to your website’s header or DNS settings
Cost of Tools: Free

✅ What You’ll Learn

  • How to install the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on your website
  • How to verify your domain inside Meta Business Manager
  • How to confirm that Meta is receiving PageView events

🔍 Before You Start

  • You must have a Meta Business Manager account: business.facebook.com
  • You must have access to your website’s code (header) or DNS settings (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare)
  • It helps to already have a Facebook Page connected to your business

📘 Step-by-Step Instructions

🟦 Part 1: Create and Install the Pixel

  1. Go to Meta Business Manager and select your business account.
  2. Click on Events Manager → “+ Connect Data Sources” → choose Web → then Meta Pixel.
  3. Name your Pixel (e.g., “TechStack Pixel”), enter your site URL (optional), and click Continue.
  4. Choose Install Code Manually. Copy the entire Pixel base code snippet provided.
  5. Paste this code inside the <head> tag of every page on your site — either manually or using a plugin like Insert Headers & Footers on WordPress.

🟩 Part 2: Verify Installation

  1. Install the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension.
  2. Visit your website and open the extension — you should see “PageView” firing under your Pixel ID.

🟨 Part 3: Verify Your Domain in Meta

  1. In Business Manager, go to Brand Safety → Domains and click “Add”.
  2. Enter your domain (e.g., yoursite.com — no http://), and click Add.
  3. You’ll be presented with three options: choose Meta-tag Verification or DNS TXT Record.
  4. If using Meta-tag: Copy the tag and paste it in your site’s <head> (same method as the Pixel).
  5. If using DNS: Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy), add a new TXT record with the value Meta gives you.
  6. Return to Business Manager and click Verify. This may take a few minutes to process.

⚠️ Common Issues & Fixes

  • Pixel not firing? — Make sure it’s placed inside the <head> and the code is not altered.
  • Domain not verifying? — Double-check your DNS changes were saved and give it up to 15 minutes.
  • Using a website builder? — Most platforms (e.g., Shopify, Wix, WordPress) have a “Meta Pixel” field in their settings or integrations section.
